Acetyl L-Carnitine
Acetyl L-carnitine, unflavoured. One ingredient.
The acetylated form of L-carnitine, which dissolves more readily in water than plain L-carnitine and needs a smaller serve. At 2 g per scoop, a 250 g tub goes a long way.
It has a mildly sour, slightly bitter taste — think lemon water or powdered vinegar — and a smell that puts some people off at first. Mixed at the right amount it is perfectly drinkable. It is also hygroscopic: it pulls moisture out of the air, so it will clump if the lid is left off or the tub is stored somewhere humid. Keep it sealed and it stays loose.
How to use it
One 2 g scoop in 200–250 ml of liquid, before, during or directly after training. Juice masks it better than water.
